FrameGrabber

FrameGrabber was written for a research group at Oregon State University. There are two components to the software; one written for OS X and the other for MATLAB. The OS X application reads in a MOV file and exports frames from that file based on user defined intervals. The application is no longer supported or maintained, however if you have any questions or comments regarding it feel free to contact us at any time.

The second part is a piece of MATLAB software that processes those frames. The output data is a MxNxK matrix where M is the vertical grid, N is the horizontal, and K is time. The data in this matrix is the average luminosity at that grid box.

With this dataset the numerical data can be further processed by the scientists. A plot of the average luminosity per grid box verse time is shown below.
