Price update

We are huge fans of transparency, so for those of you wondering why we've increased the price of Math Ref let us explain.

We've mentioned in previous posts that it was something we have put some thought into. Math Ref is a great app with a huge amount of content. Similar apps cost anywhere from $0.99 to $2.99, and we believe Math Ref is better than many of these apps. We love our little app and wish we could give it away, but we also have to keep the lights on. At the moment, we're undervaluing Math Ref and potentially diminishing it's perceived worth. At the moment Math Ref is in this 80% category so we're always accepting contract work for other apps or sites. For the past 3 years we've been selling Math Ref at a loss compared to the time it takes to maintain it and support it. If we want to take the app to the next level, this will help us to do that.

Education shouldn't cost money, which is why we wish we could give the app away. However, the development and maintenance of the app does and we want to be able to spend more time making the best education app in the store. We know this is something that will make some people unhappy, but we feel Math Ref is worth it and we hope you do too.
