Nice Post About Math Ref

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend, we sure did. Someone made us aware of this sweet list of iOS apps for education that Math Ref was included on and we wanted to share it with you. We're always happy when people consider us a top education app, it shows us we're definitely going in the right direction.

Just a quick post. Thanks for the great feedback we've been getting lately and be sure to keep the comments coming.

New App and Math Ref Update

We've been hard at work on our next app and wanted to share some teasers with you all. With your feedback and impressions we can make sure that we're going in the right direction. We're pretty close to getting the app in an alpha stage for testing and are really excited about it.

Not only that, but we also have a couple of great teasers for the next version of Math Ref too. We've had a few emails regarding the tablet version and have decided to go back to the drawing board. One of the biggest problems with the tablet edition is an ineffective use of space. We think we've helped that a lot and are moving away from the thin spit view of the current version and moving towards a more flat design with fewer taps to get to the real content. This new layout will also give us room to expand the interactivity of the app too, which will be great.

Overall, we're pretty happy with the unified look of these two apps and hope you guys like the look too. Even though Happy Maau is only two people with full time jobs, it's awesome to be able to take the time on the side to make apps like these. You guys provide some amazing support and it really helps us continue to do the best we can.

5th Annual Best App Ever Awards

We won! We really can’t believe it and have to thank you all for making it possible. This years Best App Ever Awards have been announced and Math Ref finished strong. Here are the results.

For the 5th year in a row Math Ref was nominated for a Best App Ever Award, and this year we won. It’s amazing to know that our little app, which has helped so many, has finally taken a first place award thanks to you all. Without your support there’s no way we would have won this year.

It’s extremely wonderful and motivating to know that people from middle school to college are using our app. A few generations are receiving math and science help from us, and that is an amazing realization. We’re so fortunate to have you guys as our users. You came out big time to help us out and made all this possible. We’ve set aside 10 promo codes for the full version of the app to celebrate. If you’d like to get a copy of the full version or you’d like to share it with someone else just let us know.

Thanks again for being the best users ever and helping us win our first 1st place finish. You guys made this happen and we couldn’t be happier.

What’s Next for Math Ref?

It's been almost a month since the last time we posted because we've been busy. Not only with some super secret contract, but with a new app we're working on. We're not ready to give a date or details yet, but next week we'll have some teaser screenshots for you. Aside from the new app, we're still finalizing our list of new things to bring to the next update of Math Ref.

First off, the next update will see the start of our most requested section; abstract algebra. It's a great topic and sets us up to adding more complex mathematics like real analysis. Along with that major section, we'll be adding more content that you guys have requested, like exponential definitions of hyperbolic trigonometric functions. And as always, we'll be refining some definitions and fixing some typos.

So, where's the app going? Well, the future of the app is going to be based around sharing and interactivity. Because of this we're going to start doing a lot of stuff under the hood to make that happen. You probably won't see these changes in a major way, but it'll be there. This next version we're going to focus a bit on sharing. iOS 6 users will start to see the normal sharing popup with Twitter and Facebook. We're hoping over the next few updates that we will continue to make the best math app on the App Store, and continue to wow you guys.

Thanks for the support and we should be hearing about the Best App Ever Awards later this week, we'll keep you posted. Hope you all have a great week!

Only 4 Days Left

Hope everyone has had a nice holiday season so far. Just a quick reminder that there are only FOUR days left to nominate your favorite apps for Best App Ever. We obviously hope you nominate Math Ref, but you should also check out the other categories and give some love to your favorite apps. This award is pretty awesome as users nominate their favorite apps. It's like they say, "Honor the Best, Not Just the Best Selling" and we couldn't agree more. So, we hope you take a few minutes and help us and other developers out, it means a lot to us.

One other quick thing we'd like to mention is app reviews. We really need your help here. With every update to the app you have the opportunity to rate or write a review of that update. We get a lot of great emails from users telling us how much they love the app or how they wish it had feature x. Well, reviews help others, not just us know how you feel about the app. One of the best things you can do to help us app developers is to rate our apps. It's a simple gesture, but it goes a long way.

That's all for now and have a great weekend!
